MANSFIELD — Mercedes-Benz of Mansfield, a subsidiary of Mansfield Motor Group (MMG), has announced a plan to relocate to Delaware at the Ohio 36 and I-71 interchange.

The Mercedes-Benz brand has partnered with Kevin Moreno and Roger Penske Jr. for the franchise move.

MMG president Dirk Schluter said in a press release a new state-of-the-art facility is expected to be completed in 2026.

He said the new location will enable the Mercedes-Benz brand to expand and better serve current and future customers with investments in facilities, inventory, parts and service.

“Painstaking attention and thought have been given to how we can continue offering excellence to our many loyal local customers,” Schluter said.

“This was critical in our planning and negotiation of this new venture. We’ll still serve our customers in Mansfield offering local service. We’re just expanding to a new town and bigger city.”

Upon completion of the Delaware location, Mercedes-Benz of Mansfield will continue using the Mansfield location as a drop-off point for any local service. Pickup and delivery will be utilized behind the scenes for all warranty work.

“Mercedes-Benz of Mansfield wants to thank and assure all past, present and future customers of a seamless and positive transition,” the press release said. “It will be business as usual until the new facility is completed.

“We are excited about the improvements this move will bring to our Mercedes-Benz customers. Moving this great franchise to a growing market will offer improved sales and service to better match the market size and demands. Mercedes-Benz and MMG will continue to take care of your vehicle needs and ensure you receive great, continued care.”

Schluter said he plans to convert the Mercedes-Benz showroom into a showroom for used vehicles when the Delaware location is complete.

“We’ll probably have a net increase in sales being able to offer more pre-owned cars,” he said. “And, we’ll still be involved with the state-of-the-art location in Delaware for our customers who want new Mercedes.”

Mansfield Motor Group hosts Honda, Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Lincoln, Volvo, Sprinter, Chevrolet, Superformance Cobra, GT40 and 150+ used cars.

Customers can visit the lot at 1493 Park Ave. West or call 419-529-4000. The business is online at MMGauto.com and on Facebook.
