The MindSprouts Showcase is a celebration of young writers, where creativity and imagination come to life on stage. This program, part of the Renaissance’s Mechanics Bank Education Series, invites K–12 students to submit original compositions in the form of short stories, plays, or poems. Led by Renaissance Teaching Artist Dauphne Maloney, the program nurtures young talent with in-class workshops that inspire students to explore the power of storytelling and writing.

The culmination of this program is a stage performance where the best student submissions are adapted for the theater, offering students the unique opportunity to see their written work performed live. The showcase highlights the creative potential of young people, fostering a love for writing and providing a platform for their voices to be heard.

Whether you are a participant or an audience member, the MindSprouts Showcase promises to be a heartwarming experience that celebrates the power of words and the imagination of the next generation. Join us for an inspiring evening as we showcase the talent and creativity of young writers from our community.

Mansfield Senior High School presents… Godspell Jr! Join us for a high-energy musical that brings powerful themes of compassion, kindness, and community to life through song, storytelling, and vibrant ensemble performances. Filled with humor, heart, and uplifting messages, this is a show for all ages! Shows are on May 8th (7PM) and May 10th (11AM) at the Senior High Auditorium. Tickets will be $10 and will be available in April. Don’t miss Mansfield’s first musical in over a decade!

Free produce to be distributed to lower income people who have a real need. May 12th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Produce will be loaded into your car by our volunteers.

Student Orientation Session for newly enrolled students: We’ll cover everything you need to know for a great start, including Academics, Attendance, Dress Code, and our Learning Management System. We’ll also give you a tour of the campus and classrooms so you know exactly where you’re going, and we’ll help you set up your new laptop. We try to have some fun, too!

The public is invited to a free presentation and reenactment of  “Meet Robert Porterfield: a Soldier in Washington’s Army“.  It will be hosted at the Crestline Historical Museum, 400 Scott Street, on Sunday, May 17 at 3:00. The presenter will be Lance Beebe.  Enjoy touring the Crestline Historical Museum from 2:00-4:00. A feature display is the 36 foot mahogany pharmaceutical unit from 1903 that was in Trory’s Drug Store in Crestline. There is something for everyone at the Crestline Museum including railroad, pioneer farming, sports, military, antique, and more.
