The 19th Annual Bobolink Festival is a free, family-friendly outdoor event celebrating birds, nature, and community engagement in Ashland County. Co-sponsored by local organizations including Ashland County Parks District, the festival offers interactive educational stations, guided bird walks, wildlife experiences, and hands-on activities designed to connect attendees with the natural world.
The event highlights local bird species such as bobolinks, bluebirds, tree swallows, and purple martins, while also featuring pollinators, nature photography, and conservation education. Guests can enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with opportunities to learn, explore, and participate in activities for all ages.
Additional features include a live animal show, a children’s puppet show, raffle prizes (including binoculars), and a casual lunch with burgers, hot dogs, and refreshments available by donation. Informational signage, maps, and staffed check-in areas help guide attendees throughout the experience.

The Friends of Marvin Memorial Library will be accepting gently used books and puzzles at the Marvin Memorial Library Garage on Saturday, June 27th from 9am-12pm!

All accepted donations will be used for future book sales by The Friends of MML, and all book sale proceeds help fund Marvin Memorial Library events, prizes, equipment and more!

Donations will be accepted at the Marvin Memorial Library Garage located at the back of the library parking lot,  and cannot be accepted if taken into the main building.
Please remember to check your books for water damage, mold, and bugs. Books with any signs of damage can be refused at drop off.

Join us for a night of R&B, singer-songwriters, local talent and great vibes in the basement of Richland Source!
This version of Newsroom After Hours is a bit different. $10 cover (all goes towards the artists), no free alcohol or food provided and it’s on a Sunday evening.
That aside, expect the same outstanding local talent, professional sound + lighting and great company. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, chairs, etc. All ages are welcome.

Whether you’re a former band member, local history enthusiast, or simply love nostalgic music, this program offers a unique chance to hear and celebrate Shelby’s musical heritage.
