LEXINGTON: Judith Ann “Judy” Ehrensberger, 86, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Mill Creek Nursing Home in Galion following an extended illness.
Born November 15, 1939, in Bucyrus, Judy was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Alliman) Hancock. A graduate of Bucyrus High School, she married Robert J. Ehrensberger on August 3, 1957, and together they shared a loving marriage until his passing.
Judy was a woman of faith, family, and friendship. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lexington, where she sang in the choir, and later attended New Liberty Baptist Church on Lexington Avenue. Music was one of Judy’s lifelong passions. During the 1970s, she was a member of the Frauen Choir, enjoying weekly rehearsals in the Drawing Room at Kingwood Center and performing concerts on the lawn.
Always active and involved, Judy bowled in league play at Lex Lanes during the 1980s and was a member of a local women’s antique club as well as the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and participating in activities at both the Lexington and Ontario Senior Centers.
Judy found beauty in simple pleasures. She loved planting and tending her flower gardens and could often be found walking through her neighborhood, visiting with friends and neighbors along the way. Social by nature, she never met a stranger and enjoyed being surrounded by people.
More than anything, Judy was devoted to her family. Holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings were among her greatest joys, and she cherished every opportunity to bring loved ones together. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in following their lives and accomplishments. Judy also enjoyed driving her red Cadillac, which suited her spirited personality perfectly.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Charles (Wai Fan) Ehrensberger of South Carolina; her daughter, Christine Ann (Scott) Hall of Mansfield; grandchildren, Alex Ehrensberger, Lauren (Jackson) Yomogida, Trevor Hall, and Kyle (Makayla) Hall; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert J. Ehrensberger.
The Ehrensberger family will receive friends Friday, June 19, 2026 from 1 pm – 1:30 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where Judy’s memorial service will begin at 1:30 pm. Pastor Chad Berry will officiate. Private graveside services will be held in Lexington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Liberty Church.
