Carey Junior Robertson, “ Popcycle,” 72, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, following a brief illness.
Carey was born on December 10, 1943, in Haywood City, Tennessee, to George and Ozella (Peters) Robertson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Shiloh Full Gospel Church until his illness. Carey loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Paris Renee Robertson of Cleveland; six siblings, Ann Montgomery, Clarence (Latonya) Robertson, Linda Robertson, Anthony Robertson, all of Mansfield; and Lue Robertson and Tracy Robertson of Columbus; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rico Robertson; a sister, Georgia Boyd; and grandparents, Johnnie and Sue (Peters) Wellington, Oscar Peters, and Carey Wellington.
Family will receive friends at 393 Spayer Lane, Mansfield up till Friday. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve, Rittman, Ohio.
