MANSFIELD – James Sorensen, CEO of My Charitable Community, was among 117,117 students nationally selected to compete in the 7th annual Saunders Scholars Competition.
Sorenson, of Ontario, is a local member of Richland County’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy. He was a semifinalist in this event.
Hundreds of business and education leaders, students and parents gathered to hear America’s top young entrepreneurs ages 11-18 pitch their business plans.
The young entrepreneurs competed to win college scholarships ranging from $25,000 – $50,000, an all-expenses paid trip to America’s Small Business Summit in Washington, DC, and, the opportunity to be on ABC Television’s hit show Shark Tank!
The 7th annual YEA! Saunders Scholars Semi-Finals competition was held in Rochester, New York.
The Mansfield Richlnand Area Educational Foundation runs the Young Entrepreneurs Academy locally.
