MANSFIELD — Adrian Lewers knew she wanted to operate her own medical clinic the day after the opportunity was presented to her.

“It’s been a long road since January, but everything has kind of fallen into place,” she said. “We’re excited to offer a new opportunity and a new business to the community.”

Lewers is a certified nurse practitioner who has been in the medical field for 18 years. She opened The Wellness Clinic at 380 Cline Ave. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.

Lewers’ mother, Rebecca Lewers, will work as the clinic’s receptionist.

“I’m so proud of Adrian for getting here,” Rebecca Lewers said. “She’s well-suited for this work and worked really hard to get here.”

The Wellness Clinic offers physicals for school sports and pre-employment, as well as primary care, weight loss therapy and same-day sick visits.

All visits are billed out-of-pocket but the clinic also accepts health savings accounts payments.

“Because I’m not affiliated with a conglomerate, I think we can make you feel like more of a person here and not just a number,” Lewers said.

The office has four different patient rooms that Lewers decorated to feel comfortable.

“It was well-done to begin with so I just added a few personal things to make it homey,” she said. “My main goal here is to be a compassionate provider.”

The Wellness Clinic is located at 380 Cline Ave. suite 4, across the street from Phillips Animal Hospital.

Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. Lewers said she hopes to expand hours to Saturdays soon and possibly expand to other days of the week if she gets enough business.

Appointments can be booked online or by calling the office directly at 419-512-4141.

The Wellness Clinic can also be reached on Facebook.
