CRAWFORD COUNTY — A U.S. Route 30 bridge replacement will reduce the highway to one lane of traffic in each direction, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

U.S. 30 at the east and west bridges over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, just west of State Route 98, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for a bridge replacement project.

The estimated completion of this project is August 2027.

New impacts

U.S. 30 eastbound from Old Lincoln Highway (County Road 330) to State Route 98 is closed to traffic for emergency pavement repairs.

Motorists traveling along U.S. 30 east will be detoured to the County Road 330 Bucyrus/Oceola exit and turn right to take Old Lincoln Highway (County Road 330) through Bucyrus and reenter onto U.S. 30 east at the entrance ramp located on the east side of Bucyrus.

Motorists traveling U.S. 30 eastbound will not have access to the State Route 4/State Route 19 entrance/exit ramps.

Continuing impacts

Traffic has been switched into a new pattern using the median crossovers. One 11-foot lane in each direction will be maintained on the westbound side of the roadway while crews work on U.S. 30 eastbound.

The U.S. 30 eastbound exit ramp to State Route 98 is closed for 120-days for a bridge replacement.

The detour route will be for motorists to continue on U.S. 30 east the County Road 330/Bucyrus exit, take the exit and then turn left onto County Road 330, and then reenter the highway onto U.S. 30 west to the State Route 98 Plymouth Street/Plymouth exit to get to State Route 98.

The estimated reopening is Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026.
