CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals fans still in mourning over Sunday night’s 23-20 Super Bowl loss to the Los Angeles Rams can be encouraged by a look-ahead to next season.
According to Covers.com, the Bengals are among the favorites to reach next year’s Super Bowl.
“The two teams responsible for this year’s best game lead the pack with the other final four playoff teams rounding out the list,” said Brad Walz, of Covers.com. “Of course, a lot is riding on the future of Jimmy G. and other question marks like Aaron Rodgers.”
The Super Bowl 2023 odds favor these six teams:
Kansas City Chiefs +650
Buffalo Bills +650
L.A. Rams +1,000
San Francisco 49ers +1,200
Cincinnati Bengals +1,400
Green Bay Packers + 1,400
In Ohio, Gov. Mike DeWine issued the following statement on the Bengals’ Super Bowl run:
“Ohio and all Bengals fans are so very proud of this Bengals team. They represented Cincinnati and Ohio with class and honor,” DeWine said. “They fought right to the end — just like they did throughout the season.
“No one expected them to go to the playoffs. No one expected them to go to the Super Bowl. But they made it. It took grit. Determination. And incredible optimism.”
DeWine also encouraged fans to look ahead, as the Bengals seem set with 25-year-old quarterback Joe Burrow and one of the NFL’s friendliest salary cap situations.
“They showed us all that the future is very bright,” DeWine said. “Fran and I and our family can’t wait until the season starts next year.”
