MANSFIELD — The Richland Early American Center for History will host its third annual Civil War Living History Days at South Park this weekend.

The free, family-friendly event will feature re-enactors, demonstrations and tours of the historic structures at South Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A public candlelight lantern tour of the camp is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
“Our buildings will be open with period re-enactors providing historical talks with demonstrations and activities throughout the day,” said Cheryl Rettig, REACH’s treasurer.
“There will be a food truck on site for the public to purchase food.”
Highlights of this year’s event include presentations on Civil War music, the daguerreotype, slavery and the Bible, love letters written during the Civil War and of course, skirmishes.
Famous historical figures who plan to stop by include President Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis, leader of the Confederate states.
