Constance “Connie” Charles

MANSFIELD: Constance “Connie” Charles, age 77, of Mansfield passed away Saturday September 19, 2020 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.   

She was born February 14, 1943 in Shelby, to the late Glen A. and Ruby Mae (Myers) Boyce.  She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1961 and also attended Mansfield Beauty College. 

Connie worked as a hairdresser until 1981.  She also worked with her first husband Don Lumadue in the office of Don’s Electronic Service and Mansfield Restaurant repair from 1965 to 1980.  More recently, she worked as a cashier at Mickey Mart and Der Dutchman.    

She was a long time member of First Alliance Church in Bellville where she was active with the email prayer group and Women’s Missionary Society.  

Connie served as the president of Myers Cemetery Association and also served on the Richland County Election Board for many years.  

She loved Gospel music, genealogy, and spoiling her children and grandchildren.  

Surviving is her husband Robert Charles of Mansfield, children Paul M. and Cynthia Lumadue of Lexington, and  David J. and Lori Lumadue of Mansfield; Tina and Andre Swarn of Mansfield, and Tanya Kaufman of Mansfield; grandchildren Megan (Ian) Montgomery, Dustin (Liz) Lumadue, Maraya Lumadue, Noah Lumadue, Addisyn Lumadue, Ashley (Ratana) Thi, Cody Knuckles, Michael Munsil and Gage (Hope) Kaufman; 10 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister Della Jean and William Sampsel of Mansfield; brother Glen A. Boyce, Jr. of Mansfield; sister-in-law Shirley Boyce of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Diana Rae Lumadue, a brother Daniel Boyce, a sister Bonnie Sue Boyce and niece Shelly Boyce-Sumler.  

Friends may call Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 am in Clear Fork Alliance Church. Friends may call the hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Myers Cemetery near Shelby.
