MANSFIELD — A 24-year-old Mansfield man died Friday after a shooting incident on Florence Avenue, according to Police Chief Jason Bammann.
A 23-year-old female was also shot in what authorities are describing as a “Domestic Violence-related Felonious Assault-Suicide.”
No names have been disclosed to the public and details remained sketchy on Friday night when Bammann issued the press release attached at the bottom of this story.
The incident took place at 2:45 p.m. at 12 Florence Avenue.
Police say they responded to the address after a report of gunshots at the residence. Upon arrival both subjects were transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where the man eventually died. The 23-year-old woman was still being treated.
Detectives from the Mansfield Division of Police, along with the Richland County Coroner’s Office are on the investigation.
