MANSFIELD — The METRICH Enforcement Unit will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement to present another community Prescription Take Back event on Saturday.

Locally, events for “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing safe and responsible means for disposal of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse and medications.

Pills will be the only form accepted, so no sharps, plastics or liquids should be brought to collection sites. It’s advised pills be placed in a plastic or Ziplock bag.

This event is only for household unused or expired medications. No pharmacies, businesses, pharmaceutical sales reps are to participate. 

Richland County will have four locations for prescription drug drop off:

— the Richland County Solid Waste Authority facility located at 1125 National Parkway, Mansfield.

— Richland County Sheriff’s Office located at 597 Park Ave East, Mansfield.

— Bellville Police Department at 320 Bell St., Bellville

— Shelby Police Department located at 31 Mack Ave., Shelby.

— Ashland County Sheriff’s Office 1205 E. Main St., Ashland

— Bucyrus Police Department 500 S. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus

— Crawford County Sheriff’s Office 3613 Stetzer Road, Bucyrus

— Danville Police Department 512 S. Market St., Danville

— Fredericktown Police Department 182 S. Main St., Fredericktown

— Galion Police Department 269 Portland Way South, Galion

— Mount Vernon Police Department 11660 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon
