Farmers market season has officially begun, with weekly pop-ups springing up like dandelions across north central Ohio.

If you’re ready to cut out the middleman and get your own juicy fruits and crunchy vegetables, vibrant bouquets, baked goods, crafts and local honey straight from the source, keep reading.

Farmers markets allow producers to receive more for their goods, while customers get access to the freshest items and boost their local economies, according to the Farmers Market Coalition.

We’ve compiled a list of farmer’s markets in Ashland, Knox and Richland counties.

Ashland County

Ashland Mid-Week Farmers Market

  • Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • 663 East Main Street
  • June 3 through Sept. 16

Trinity Baptist Church Farmers Market (Ashland)

  • Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • 891 State Route 511, Ashland
  • May 28 through mid October

Loudonville Farmers Market

  • Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Central Park (at the corner of Main Street and Market Street)
  • May 30 to Sept. 26 (except July 4th)

Knox County

Heart of Ohio Farmers Market (Centerburg)

  • Thursdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Bell Park
  • June 4 through Sept. 3

Fredericktown Farmer’s Market

  • Thursdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Central Park (at the corner of Main Street and Sandusky Street)
  • June through August

Mount Vernon Farmer’s Market

  • Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Public Square (at the corner of Main Street and High Street)
  • May through October

Richland County

Bellville Market

  • Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon

Crestline Farmer’s Market

  • Tuesdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

Lexington Farmers Market

North End Farmer’s Market (Mansfield)

Shelby Farmer’s Market

  • Saturdays from 9 to noon

Plymouth Farmer’s Market

  • Second Sunday of the month from noon to 2 p.m.
  • Downtown Plymouth
