MANSFIELD — Park National Bank re-opened public access to its 3 N. Main St. building on Wednesday, according to bank officials.

Banking, however, should still be conducted at other PNB locations.

“We have reopened public access to the building this afternoon via an alternate entry point so our tenants and their visitors may bypass the entryway where work and reviews are underway,” said Michelle Hamilton, PNB chief marketing and digital officer.

The bank announced Tuesday it had temporarily closed the downtown Mansfield building due to damage in the primary entryway.

“We have reopened public access to the building this afternoon via an alternate entry point so our tenants and their visitors may bypass the entryway where work and reviews are underway,” Hamilton said in an email.

With ongoing work on the first floor, the banking office remains temporarily closed. Bank customers are encouraged to use other nearby offices until we are able to fully reopen the lobby, Hamilton said.

PNB Regional President Chris Hiner said, “We are pleased to report that we reopened public access to the building today to our tenants and their visitors, routing them through another entry, away from the impacted portion of the building.

“We continue to work closely with structural engineers and construction partners to identify the best long-term solution. Meanwhile, we stand ready to serve bank customers at any of our other nearby locations,” Hiner said.

The eight-story, 42,876 square-foot building was built on the square downtown in 1929.
