MANSFIELD — On March 19, 2017 at 2:30 p.m., Mansfield Symphony musicians Sharon Blaydes and Lindsay Brown will partner with actors Maddie and Colton Penwell to tell the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
It’s the third installment of the Renaissance Education Department’s Teddy Bear Concerts. During this interactive and sensory-friendly concert, children will become a part of the story as they experience live theatre and live classical music up close.
The event will take place on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield. Thanks to donors Don and Sharon Granter, ticket prices have been reduced to $5 per person for the Teddy Bear Concerts this season, which are presented as a part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series. Additional support comes from the Sterkel Fund and the Ohio Arts Council.
“The Teddy Bear concerts are a fantastic family event different from almost anything else you can experience locally. Your children are free and invited to be wiggly and noisy, and they have the opportunity to really learn through storytelling and music. Our last event sold out, so I’ll be getting my own tickets early this time,” said Colleen Cook, Director of Marketing at the Renaissance.
Inspired by the Kennedy Center’s family programming, the Ren Teddy Bear concerts are set up to allow children an up-close experience with symphonic instruments, live acting, and basic musical concepts. To provide the most engaging performance possible, the Teddy Bear series can accommodate only 100 concert-goers and their very favorite teddy bears, so these onstage seats fill quickly — grab Teddy and pick out your seats at mansfieldtickets.com! (Teddy Bears enjoy free admission for this series only).
