Helen Marjorie Swanger, 93, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016.
She was born to Charles and Blanche (Thompson) Swanger on July 27, 1923.
Helen led a very active life, and she was the matriarch of the family. She was a care giver for her mother, and she made sure to take care of everyone in the family. Helen enjoyed flowers, golf, bowling, and traveling to Lake Erie. She was a member of AARP and attended Crossroads Community Church and Little Washington Congregational Church. Helen was also employed at Peabody Barnes.
Helen is survived by her siblings, Betty (Bill) West, of Medina, Nancy (Robert) Robinson, of Mansfield, Carol (Bob) Deems of Galloway, and Ronald Swanger, of Bellville; sisters-in-law, Erma Swanger and Darlene Swanger, both of Mansfield; a special caregiver, and nieces, Therese Deems, of Hilliard, and Judy Palmer, of Bellville; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; and special great-great nieces and nephew, Gabby, Gracie, Noah, and Tony.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Richard (Martha), Charles (Marjie), Kenneth (Elsie) (Ginny), Robert (Pat), Arthur, and Floyd Swanger.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Doug Taylor, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Celebration of Life will follow the graveside at Crossroads Community Church, 1188 Park Ave West. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
