Margaret Ann Jenkins

Margaret Ann Jenkins, 85, of Shelby, died Friday morning, Sept. 16, 2016 at the Crystal Care Center in Mansfield.

Born April 2, 1931 in Milan, Ohio, to Edwin and Beulah (Schutt) Hosford, she had been a Shelby resident for 41 years but retired to Vero Beach, Florida for several years.

Margaret had worked for Shelby Business Forms/Uforma for many years as a secretary. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby, Asbury Methodist Church in Vero Beach, Florida, and the Emanual Methodist Church in Ashland. She also sang for several years with the Mansfield Choral Society and was a member of the Trinity Trio in Shelby.

Margaret also volunteered as a member of MMAP, doing charitable projects in the south as well as volunteering for Meals on Wheels, FISH and other various church projects in Vero Beach.

She loved golfing, reading and doing crossword puzzles. Margaret also had a passion for music, playing the piano and singing, and had sang for many years with the Mansfield Choral Society. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. 

She is survived by her three children, Richard (Jill) Jenkins, of Glen Allen, Virginia, Janet (David) Baker, of Shelby, and Linda Jenkins, of Dublin; grandchildren, Lee, Trevor and Kelsey Jenkins and Melissa Osborne, Julie (Josh) Luebke and Salathiel Baker; great grandchildren, Colton, Grayson, Brody, Jackson, Genevieve and Isla; brother-in-law, David Straits, of Ashland; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shorts, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Kay) Jenkins, of Ashland and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years, Richard Jenkins in January of 2007.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev James Humphrey and Dr. Reverend Edna Stahl will officiate with internment held in Nankin Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
