MANSFIELD — The North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) is hosting “Celebrating Our Community: A Gratitude Cookout” on Friday, Sept. 9 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

NECIC would like to say Thank You to everyone who has helped revitalize our community, so the event is free and open to the public.

The evening includes a cookout provided by NECIC, a community drum circle led by Sogbety Diomande, a children’s activity hosted by Laura Burns of Mom’s Clean Air Force, tours of NECIC’s Blust Avenue Teaching Garden led by the Green Peoplez garden club, and great prizes compliments of local businesses.

This community gratitude event is held in partnership with the City of Mansfield and will take place on the grounds behind the Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center (445 Bowman St) and the Blust Avenue Teaching Garden (417 Blust Ave., off Springmill St.).

In case of rain or bad weather, the event will be held in the Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center cafeteria and community room, near the Bowman Street entrance. Follow the event page for weather updates: https://www.facebook.com/events/244442789283420/
