SHELBY — During the month of August, the United Way of Richland County and School Specialty collaborated to offer a back-to-school program for participating Richland County elementary schools.
The program was a dollar for dollar match up to $1,000 per school in-store credit to Mansfield-area business, School Specialty.
Shelby Foundation Director Carrie Kemerer thought this was a great opportunity for Shelby area schools, so she contacted representatives of the Reynolds’s Family Memorial Fund and the Giller Family Educational Fund. They assured her that all Shelby area schools would be able to take full advantage of this opportunity, with any funds short of the maximum matched amount being covered by their respective funds.
Thanks to the generosity of the Reynolds Family, the Giller Family, and other local donors, no Shelby school left a single dollar on the table.
