Joann (Grimm) Britz Champion Clutter, 85, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016.
She was born to Orville Grimm and Laurena Riddle on Aug. 19, 1931 in Bucyrus, Ohio.
Joann worked as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk at Galion Hospital and later retired from her primary career at Geauga Plastics. She loved spending time with her family, and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, and mowing grass. She also enjoyed listening to Christian music, playing BINGO, and watching NASCAR and Ohio State football.
Joann is survived by her daughters, Linda (Britz) and Ron Spangler, of Galion, Sandy (Britz) and Charlie Daniels, of Bucyrus, and Karen (Britz) and Loren Wendland, of Galion; son, Johnny N. Champion, of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Kristi Kempf, of Marion, Kevin Spangler, of Galion, Rhonda (Carl) Baldwin and Renee McFarland, both of Bucyrus, Dale (Lisa) Stevens, of Ontario, Brent (Andrea) Stevens, of Galion, Phillip (Jenny) Jackson, of Ontario, J.R. Jackson, of Oceola, and Rebecca Champion and Sara Champion, of Florida; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Pat) Grimm, of Florida, Chester Grimm, of Columbus, and Robert Grimm, of Michigan; and sisters, Bonnie (Floyd) Grau, of Bucyrus, and Mary Jane Hart, of Florida.
Joann was preceded in death by her father, Orville Grimm; mother, Laurena Greasley; husband, Donald Clutter, who passed away on March 14, 2013; daughter, Patricia (Britz) Nichols; and sisters-in-law, Mary and Marva Grimm.
A private graveside service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family. Memorial contribution may be made to Med Central Hospice, or the Humane Society of the donors choice.
