SHELBY — The Ford Motor Company is collaborating with Donley Ford of Shelby to host a Drive 4 UR Community event to raise funds for Rotary Club of Shelby.

Much like the Drive 4 UR School program, Ford Motor Company’s program, Drive 4 UR Community, is designed to help raise much needed funding for area charitable organizations. Donley Ford of Shelby, with the assistance of Jake Penwell of Rotary Club of Shelby, have planned the event.

The festivities take place on Saturday Aug. 27, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drive 4 UR School and Drive 4 UR Community programs have raised more than $20 million for local schools and community organizations since the inception of Drive 4 UR School in 2007. Drive 4 UR Community came into existence in 2012 to provide the same opportunity to community organizations in need as was offered to area schools.

During Drive 4 UR Community Donley For of Shelby will team up with Rotary Club of Shelby and many volunteers to complete the test-drive fundraising event. Donley Ford of Shelby will provide new Ford cars to be test-driven and work together Jake Penwell of Rotary Club of Shelby, to organize and publicize the event.

For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Rotary Club of Shelby for a potential cumulative donation of $6,000 to assist in all they do for the community of Shelby.

“The Drive 4 UR Community program is a great example of how Donley Ford of Shelby can and does go further in our communities to help meet the local needs of our communities,” said Scott Donley, president of the local dealership. “We take pride in the opportunity for consumers to test-drive and not have to worry about a sales pitch.”
