Lovingly called “Maw” by her grandchildren, Patty had a kind and generous heart and will be sadly missed by her cherished family.
Patty D. Sand passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Galion Community Hospital Emergency Room at the age of 64.
Born Oct. 4, 1951 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Edna G. (Somerlot) Music.
Patty is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill Sand who she married on April 8, 1972.
Patty was a graduate of Galion High School in 1970. She was a member of VFW 4329, American Legion Scarbrough 243, Army Navy Garrison 987, AMVETS, Owls Club and Galion Moose 303 where she worked on weekends. Patty enjoyed golfing, cookouts at her home and especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Heather (Jeff) Downing and Rodney Sand, both of Galion; grandchildren Amber, Jessica, Ryan and Colton; brother Gary (Pat) Music of Fredericktown; niece Andrea (Jeff) Sellers of Butler and their children Tyler, Trey and Blake; niece Courtney Springer of Bellville and her children Macy and Ava and Nephew Brad (Lyn) Kiger of Columbus and their children Allison and Ava.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating.
