Leland Duncan, 63, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was born to Homer Duncan and Avanelle (Hall) Duncan Sergent Lewis on October 20, 1952 in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Leland was a lifelong Mansfield resident. He worked for Tube City IMS (Luntz Corp) for 45 years, driving truck for 35 years, and working as a front end loader for the last 10. He enjoyed sitting on the porch, and loved life. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his wife was his world.
Leland is survived by his loving wife, Susie (Lawhun) Duncan of 44 years. They were married on May 27, 1972. He is also survived by two sons, Ricky (Brandi) Duncan, and Jeffrey (Michelle Peyton) Duncan; six grandchildren, Katelyn (JD) Thompson, Jeffrey Duncan, Haley, Alexis, Keelie, and Summer Duncan; three step grandchildren, Justin, Kaylee, and Bryan Peyton; two great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Natalie Thompson; one step great grandchild, Braylynn Peyton; four sisters, Judy (William) Jarrels, Linda Drake, Earlene (Darrel) Hall, and Doris (Steve) Roop; one brother, Freddie (Deana) Sergent; his loyal companion, Shorty; and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Leland Ray Duncan; and one sister, Delores Sergent.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bruce Copley, will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 1 p.m., also at the Diamond Street Home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
