MANSFIELD – Mansfield Pediatrics will affiliate with Akron Children’s Hospital to become the organization’s second pediatric primary care office in Richland County, effective May 3.

The practice will be renamed Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics (ACHP) Mansfield and will remain at its current location, 770 Balgreen Drive, Suite 101.

“Akron Children’s is the perfect partner for us,” said Dr. Robert Burns, who has cared for children at Mansfield Pediatrics for 35 years. “Our families will receive care from the same team of dedicated providers who they have trusted for generations, but they will now have access to new options from Akron Children’s, such as electronic medical records from the convenience of their home or mobile app.”

According to Ben Teske, director of primary care services at Akron Children’s, the organization is dedicated to providing convenient access and comprehensive care close to home for all families. New patients are always welcome, as well as most insurances, including Medicaid, Teske said.

The office’s nine medical providers will offer the full range of primary care for babies, children and teens, including well child visits/routine check-ups; immunizations; sports, school and camp physicals; treatment for illness and injury; and chronic disease management.

Office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (the office will close at 5 p.m. during the transition May 3-12), Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. To schedule an appointment with one of the following providers, call 419-522-3341.
