MANSFIELD — Richland Newhope, along with Element of Art Studio/Gallery and the Richland Mall, are sponsoring the 6th annual Bringing the Elements Together Art and Talent Exhibition.

The event, featuring the work of individuals supported by Richland Newhope, takes place Friday, March 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Richland Mall in Ontario.

This is one of several activities to mark Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March.

Artwork displayed will include paintings, photography, pottery, and jewelry. Some will be available for purchase. In addition, two artists will be doing free portrait sketches.

There will be a variety of live performances throughout the event, including the Sparkles cheerleading squad and the dance troupe from Richland Newhope Industries, Inc. (RNI).

The exhibition is designed to showcase the many ‘abilities’ that people with developmental disabilities have and to involve the entire community in an awareness month activity.

In addition to the art and talent show, the event will also include informational displays, demonstrations, a coloring page station, and other disability awareness activities.

In 2015, Richland Newhope (Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities) supported more than 1,800 individuals through early intervention, preschool, adult, residential, therapy, transportation and other family support programs.
