MADISON TOWNSHIP — The Madison High School Choral Department will present “Thoroughly Modern Millie – Junior” from March 18 to 20 in the middle school auditeria at 1419 Grace St.
The musical features a book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlan, music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by Dick Scanlan.
“Thoroughly Modern Millie – Junior” is a high–spirited music adventure taking place in New York City in 1922.
Young Millie Dillmount is fresh off the bus, ready to put her “modern” plan of marrying for money, not love, into action. As a new girl in town, Millie makes new friends, finds an unexpected romance and uncovers a white slavery ring right under her nose.
Featured students in the cast include Alyssa Bogner as “Millie Dillmount,” John Marhefka as “Jimmy,” Ethan Wilson as “Trevor Graydon III,” and Tammie Turner as “Ms. Dorothy Brown.”
A strong ensemble of “Hotel Pricilla Girls” and an energetic chorus will take the audience back to 1922 when women were just entering the workforce and flappers were all the rage.
Performances will be on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 beginning at 7:30 pm and a Sunday Matinee at 2:30 pm.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and students. Tickets will be sold at the door 30 minutes prior to each performance and will also be available for sale at the high school athletic office during school hours.
