MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Pearl Conard Art Gallery will present the exhibit “Black and Blue,” featuring artist Jared Thorne Jan. 19 – Feb. 12. A reception and Artist Talk will be conducted at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
For the first exhibition of spring semester, we are pleased to welcome Thorne, a new faculty member within the Department of Art’s photography area at The Ohio State University. As a Black artist investigating the culture of his own people, Thorne seeks to challenge hegemonic as well as self-imposed constructs of Black identity in America and beyond. Pearl Conard Gallery is located in 145 Ovalwood Hall at The Ohio State University at Mansfield.
Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; and Friday, noon – 2 p.m. (NOTE: The gallery is staffed by student workers, so hours may shift.)
