MADISON TOWNSHIP — The Madison Local School District has announced its policy for providing free and reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2026-2027 school year.

Children from households that meet federal income eligibility guidelines may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Applications for meal benefits are available at all school offices and may also be obtained through the district website or by contacting the Food Service Department.

Households receiving SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF benefits may be eligible for free meal benefits. Foster children who are the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free meals.

Additional eligibility provisions may apply for homeless, migrant, runaway, and Head Start participants.

Families may apply for benefits at any time during the school year. If household circumstances change, such as a decrease in income, loss of employment, or an increase in household size, an application may be submitted or updated.

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity is prohibited in USDA programs and activities.
