Maggie Louise (Parker) Gerhart Tuohy, 79, of Reno, Nevada, passed away at her home on Monday, December 14, 2015. Born May 16, 1936 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Waymon and Sadie (Dean) Parker.
Maggie was an entrepreneur ~ starting early in life working and was very successful in business. She also loved to travel and did quite extensively in her lifetime, as well as many camping trips in the United States and Mexico. She had an outgoing personality and as a result of that she had many friends over her lifetime that loved and cared for her. She was very supportive to anyone that needed it, still talking to family and friends on the phone until her passing.
The life and times of Maggie are too much to put into writing and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Oscar “Oz” Tuohy; daughter, Sonia (Verlin) Yates; grandson, David E. Yates; sisters, Helen (Larry) Bass, Barb (Tom) Schrack, Kay (Bill) Elliott, Burnease (Curtis) Dean, Mary (Parker) Wesson and Juanita Pearl Scott; brothers, Sable Richmond, Donald (Connie) McKenzie and Robert (Connie) McKenzie; numerous nieces and nephews; several lifelong friends, Phyllis Hesselden, Anita Mochoskay and Mimi Fischer; and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
She was preceded in death by her father, Waymon Parker; her mother, Sadie Thelma Dean McKenzie; a son, James E. Graves; a brother, Raymond Parker, Jr.; and a sister, Betty Hyatt.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario and also one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
