COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six members of the Jared Mansfield Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) attended the Ohio Society DAR Fall Fun Fair in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, Aug. 16. The Fall Fun Fair was held at the Columbus Airport Marriott Hotel.

Members attended the Vietnam 50th Anniversary Commemorative Luncheon. There were over 60 Vietnam veterans who attend the luncheon and were called, one by one, to report for mail call. The NSDAR President General, Lynn Forney Young, was in attendance and presented to each veteran a packet of note cards, written by DAR members, thanking them for their service.

Jared Mansfield Chapter member Stephanie Gwin served as a Page, volunteering at the event. She and the other Pages surprised the attendees by participating in a flash mob dance routine that highlighted the current NSDAR administration’s theme, “Celebrate America!”

Local members attending were: Gail Adams – Chapter Regent, Stephanie Gwin – Chapter Treasurer and Chairman of Junior Membership, Pat Jennings – Chapter Chaplain, Laverne Piatt – State Chairman of Lineage Research and Chapter Registrar, Joyce Vanatter – Chapter Recording Secretary, and Joan Wyatt – Chapter Chairman of Service for Veterans.
