Kenneth C. Konves

Kenneth C. Konves, 79, of Crestline, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion.

Ken was born in Mansfield, on May 14, 1936 to the late Steven C. and Christine (Keiser) Konves. He married Linda L. Lombard on September, 7, 1962 and she survives him.

Ken graduated from Mansfield Sr. High School in the Class of 1954. He obtained his college degree from Ashland (College) University. Ken attended the Ontario Christian Church. He was employed by Mansfield Tire, Tech Form Industries of Shelby, Galion Schools and retired from the Crestline School system. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from August 1959 to August 1961. He remained in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1965, and was a member of the American Legion. Ken enjoyed reading the bible, working outside and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and two daughters: James R. Konves, Orlando, FL; Amy (David) Ogborn, Shelby; Karen (Scott) Donahue, Crestline; four grandchildren; Ryan Ogborn, Shelby; Emily, Sidney and Luke Donahue, Crestline; his sister, Norma Crawford, Ft. Wayne, IN, his two sisters-in-law, Lois Konves, AZ, and Carole DeWalt, Crestline, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Henrietta Bell, and his brother, Russell Konves.

Friends may call Sunday July 26, 2015, from 2-5 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Minister Randy Allen and Pastor Walter Keib officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline where full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the Galion-Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.

Memorial contributions may be made to any of the following: American Heart Association,

Crestline Schools, the Ontario Christian Church or the Galion Community Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation in care of the funeral home.
