The Ohio Department of Transportation has released the weekly road construction update for the week of May 18. 

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 39

SR 39, between the Richland County line and State Route 95, is closed for the replacement of six culverts. The detour route for westbound motorists is SR 39 to SR 95, west on SR 95 to State Route 603, north on SR 603 to SR 39, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 22, 2015.

State Route 89

SR 89, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Perry Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 89 to US Route 42, south on US 42 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to SR 89, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 30, 2015.

State Route 511

SR 511, one-quarter-mile north of Township Road 1104 in Orange Township, is closed for bridge repairs prior to an upcoming resurfacing project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 511 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to State Route 58, north on SR 58 to State Route 302, west on SR 302 to SR 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen June 29, 2015.

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 61/State Route 309

SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue and SR 598 (Portland Way North) from Heise Park Lane to Harding Way in the City of Galion has intermittent single lane closures as crews finalize all remaining work as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete by late May or early June 2015.

State Route 98

SR 98, at three locations between Mt. Zion Road and State Route 294, is closed for the replacement of culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 98 to SR 294, west on SR 294 to State Route 4, north on SR 4 to SR 98, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen June 5, 2015.

Scott Road

Scott Road (Township Road 50), between State Route 103 and Lauden Road, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Scott Road to SR 103, south on SR 103 to Kenestrick Road, east on Kenestric Road to Lauden Road, north on Lauden Road to Scott Road, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 28, 2015.

RICHLAND COUNTY

State Route 603

State Route 603, between State Route 13 and State Route 61, is now open. The road was previously closed for the replacement of 11 culverts. On Tuesday, May 26, another section of State Route 603 will close for the replacement of one culvert approximately one-quarter-mile east of State Route 13. The detour route for southbound motorists will be SR 603 to SR 13, south on SR 13 to State Route 96, east on SR 96 to SR 603, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 28, 2015.

County Road 303

Pleasant Valley Road (County Road 303) is closed just east of Moffett Road for a bridge replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Pleasant Valley Road to Hasting Newville Road, south on Hasting Newville Road to Swigart Road, southeast on Swigart Road to Opossum Run Road, east on Opossum Run Road to State Route 95, northeast on SR 95 to State Route 603, north on SR 603 to Pleasant Valley Road, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in early June 2015.

County Road 31

County Road 31 (Bellville Johnson Road), between Ritter Road and Mann Road, will close Tuesday, May 26 for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 31 to State Route 97, northwest on SR 97 to Mock Road, west on Mock Road to State Route 546, south on SR 546 to CR 31, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on August 10, 2015. This bridge will be replaced as part of ODOT’s expanded Local Bridge Partnership Program. Beginning in late 2013, the program provides $120 million to local governments to make bridges safer for the motoring public. The investment will repair or replace more than 230 county and city-owned bridges over a three year period ending in 2016.
