ONTARIO, Ohio — Ontario has a new fitness center, “Ontario Fitness Club,” which is located at 2903 Park Avenue West.

Ontario Fitness Club (OFC) is a merging of Fit 1 and Mansfield Super Fitness for women, formerly located in separate facilities in the Appleseed Center. “I combined them under one roof because it’s much more efficient than having two separate locations,” said owner Roy Leedy.

The new fitness facility offers what Leedy’s former workout centers provided, and more.

“We want to be a little bit more diverse than just a gym,” he said.

In addition to the cardio and strength equipment, OFC offers personal training, CrossFit, CrossFit for Kids, two weight-loss programs and various fitness classes.

“I constantly vary my classes,” said Leedy, who competed in the World CrossFit Games in California in 2013 and finished ninth in his age group.

“Workouts are never the same because to me that keeps it exciting. You don’t reach that status quo state because we don’t believe in status quo. You gotta keep changing it up to keep the body guessing and evolving.”

Leedy said there will be three 20-foot climbing ropes added in the near future.

The club’s two weight-loss programs are Thin & Healthy’s Total Solution and 20/30 Fast Track. “Thin & Healthy’s Total Solution is an awesome weight-loss program that incorporates healthy food education. We don’t believe in putting you on some stupid diet. We teach you healthy lifestyles like how to eat grocery store foods correctly, Leedy said.

“And then we have what’s called 20/30 Fast Track for the people who want to lose weight quickly. The idea is it’s meant to help people drop 20 pounds in 30 days. And typically people are losing a lot more than that.”

OFC is open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday – Friday and 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday (closed on Sunday). Classes, however, are offered seven days a week.

“Eventually we’ll get 24 hours installed here,” Leedy said.

Membership costs $25 a month.

OFC’s grand opening will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 4 p.m. For more information call 419-529-6444 or visit their Facebook page.

“We have a saying that your goal is our goal, so we’re here to help you get to where you want to be in your fitness,” Leedy said.
