MANSFIELD — Richland Correctional Institution has announced its 2026 Correction Officer of the Year and Employee of the Year.
Administrative Professional Jennifer Myers has been with ODRC since 2013, spending the first 10 years of her career at Mansfield Correctional Institution before moving to her current role at RiCI in 2023.
Since then, she has demonstrated reliability, initiative, creativity, and a genuine willingness to serve others. Myers has been instrumental in the development and success of the RiCI New Chapter Store and the Pound Puppy Program.
In addition, she serves as both the Volunteer Coordinator and the Community Service Coordinator. Myers is known for being readily available and eager to assist with programming.
Whether she is supporting a Valentine’s Day, family engagement, Halloween, dog program, or Christmas event, she routinely arrives early to assist with decorating and preparation, often going beyond what is expected of her role.

Officer Seth Coey started at RiCI in 2018 and has made a significant and lasting impact on the overall operation of Richland Correctional Institution. Officer Coey currently serves as an instructor in firearms, DT/SC, BI/UOF, CPR, and OC, in addition to serving as an OJT coach.
He also fulfills the role of backup training officer and has previous instructed instructional skills at CTA. Officer Coey served six years as an STG member including four years as the assistant STG coordinator.
For the past seven and a half years, he has consistently sought opportunities to recertify, teach, and expand his skillset to better serve both the facility and the department.
Officer Coey consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of a Correction Officer and plays a key role in strengthening the readiness of the institution.
