SHELBY, Ohio–A year ago Lynnwood Porter was smoking two packs of cigarettes a day; today he doesn’t smoke. But he does own Olive Clouds Vape Shop & Lounge at 11 E Main St., Shelby.
Porter tried multiple methods of kicking the habit and was unsuccessful. He even gave the electronic cigarette sticks a shot. He found them undependable and went back to the gas station to get a pack of cigarettes. His son encouraged him to continue trying and not give up.
Then Porter said he found vaping equipment in local Mansfield vape shops. Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered and deliver nicotine without combusting tobacco. They produce vapor, not smoke and a multitude of flavored juices are used to produce the vapor.
He had been cigarette-free for a year when he opened his own shop in Shelby. Porter said he wanted to open a shop to help other smokers make the transition to vaping.
“We started a soft opening [in March] and have already counseled several smokers over Facebook Messenger. It has been great to meet them in person and assist with their first step to being a non-smoker. More and more products arrive each day,” said Lorelei Caudill.
Olive Clouds features a tasting bar and an eclectic lounge area. The shop carries vaping equipment and supplies from starter kits to RDA’s and Mods for those experienced vapers and hobbyist.
