Ruth A. Pinkston, 68, of Mansfield, died April 13, 2015. Born November 13, 1946 in Louise, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Ginn) France. Ruth grew up in Mississippi and moved to the Mansfield area in the 1960’s. She worked at Independent Towel for many years, until she decided to stay at home and take care of her children. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and fishing. A loving caregiver, Ruth enjoyed taking people in to care for them. After her children had grown, she started a day care out of her home. Ruth’s biggest pride was caring for her family. 

Surviving are daughters, Carla Anne France, Ruth France, Melissa Pinkston, Tonya Pinkston, and Michelle Pinkston; step-son, John Lambert; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles France, Edna Logan, Walter France, Leon France, Cleon (Sandra) France, Virlena Johnson, Lewis (Betty) France, Shirley (Gregory) France, and James (Teresa) France; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Pinkston; son, Tyrone Pinkston; sister, Alice Brantley France; brothers, Lee Edward France and Willie France; and grandson, Javar France. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, conducted by Bishop Sylvester Ginn. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
