Diana L. Bannert, 69, of Mansfield, died April 13, 2015. Born November 12, 1945 in Dayton, she was the daughter of Roger and Mary E. (Childress) Slater. Diana graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. She worked as a tailor for Don Nash Limited for 32 years and then at Men’s Warehouse for 14 years.

Very generous with her time and talents, Diana was a little lady with a big heart. She loved her simple life of going to church, trips to Amish country, working in her flower gardens, swimming, and shopping. A member of First Assembly, Diana sang in the choir.

Surviving are her son, Bruce (fiancée, Molly Miller) Bannert of Mansfield and Bryon (Renee Wade) Bannert of Lexington; brother, David (Donna) Slater of CA; sisters, Mary Slater of NC and Nancy Berry of Mansfield, with whom she shared a special bond; and a host of very good friends and clients with whom she worked over the years.

Along with her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Dieter H. Bannert, whom she married in 1961 and sister, Janice Hamilton.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 5 p.m. at First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson Street, Mansfield. Family will receive friends for half hour prior to the service, from 4:30-5 p.m. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Diana L. Bannert.
