Detective Christopher D. Brunk announced his retirement from the Mansfield Division of Police effective June 5.

Detective Brunk began his career with the Mansfield Division of Police on June 21, 1982 as a Dispatcher and served in that capacity until his appointment as a Police Officer on Aug. 4, 1984. He served as a Patrol Officer assigned to the Community Services Bureau, Patrol Section for sixteen years until his transfer to the Special Operations Bureau, Detective Section, Juvenile Unit on April 17, 2000.  

Mansfield Police Chief Ken Coontz said Brunk is known for his hard work, dedication, initiative and positive attitude toward his work and co-workers.  Coontz said Brunk consistently demonstrates a high degree of skill, integrity and perseverance in his job. Throughout his career he received numerous Special Commendation Awards and letters of recognition.

Coontz said Brunk’s retirement represents a loss to the Mansfield Division of Police and the citizens of this community, and culminates a career that has exemplified the best qualities of a law enforcement professional.
