Kenneth “Kenny” R. Swanigan, Sr., 64, of Mansfield, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home. Born May 22, 1950 in Mansfield, he was the son of Charlie and Ruth (Garman) Swanigan. A generous and kind man, Kenny was an electrician, but also a jack of all trade. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and camping, watching old westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Deanna (Brian) Buchanan of Mansfield, Tammy (Danny) Cummings of Tiro, Nancy (Mike) Stevens of Shiloh, Pam (Bob) Kalbs of Kentucky and Crystal Taylor; sons, Kenneth Swanigan, Jr., Timothy Swanigan, and Charlie Swanigan, all of Mansfield; numerous stepchildren; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Gene (Debbi) Swanigan, Arthur Swanigan, and Betty Hamm, all of Olive Hill, KY, Jackie (Karen) Swanigan of Mansfield, James L. (Dorothy) Swanigan of Washington Court House, Cathy Swanigan of South Carolina, and Karen “Sue” (Herbie) Springston of Marengo; and many special friends and family, including special friend, Susan Gray of Mansfield.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Keaton) Swanigan; brothers, Harold, Ted, and Wilford Swanigan; sisters, Elaine Brown and Louise Pugh; and brother-in-law, Jack Butler.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m .at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Danny Rogers. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
