Jelena Garunovic, 77, of Mansfield, died March 16, 2015.
Born April 15, 1937 in Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of Boris and Jovanka (Nemisheimer) Milosavljevic. Jelena, along with her family, immigrated to the United States on July 3, 1969, sacrificing much along the way. And so it was, Jelena cared for and tended to the needs of her family, all her life long. She worked as a professional seamstress and was a member of Apostolic Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Milorad “Mike” Garunovic of Mansfield; sons, Boris “Bob” (Marianne) Garunovic of Alabama, Stan Garunovic of Akron, and Rick Garunovic of Columbus; grandchildren, Niemiah Garunovic, Lucia Garunovic, and Christina Marie (fiancee, Alan Charette) Garunovic; great-grandchild, Andrew Goran Charette; brother, Draga Milosavljevic; sisters, Dragica Crnic, Slavica Perovanovic, and Milica Vladosavljevic; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Goran Garunovic and brother, Jovan Milosavljevic.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Apostolic Christian Church, 84 N. Illinois Avenue, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
