Virginia Mae Caldwell went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 9, 2015 in her Lexington home surrounded by her loving family. She was 90.
She was born January 10, 1925 to parents William B. & Nellie (McGuire) Hogan in Portsmouth. On March 4, 1946, she married Stanley S. Caldwell and together they spent 53 wonderful years until he passed away on September 24, 1999. They are together again.
Virginia had an infectious and genuine laugh. She loved her grandkids more than anything and enjoyed cooking and making candy for friends and family. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home.
She was a faithful member of Gospel Assembly Church in Mansfield where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and usherette. Virginia enjoyed studying the Bible and spending time with her church family.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Stanley D. & Lisa Caldwell of Lexington; six grandchildren Jacob, Holly, Adam, Hannah, Megan, & Amy Caldwell; a brother & sister-in-law: Kenneth & Chris Hogan of Pickerington; two sisters & their husbands: Doris “Dot” & James Smith of Columbus and Barbara & Frank Alu of Las Vegas, NV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings: Harold Hogan, Richard Hogan, Loy Hogan, Willie Hogan Jr., Alfred Hogan, Jackie Hogan, Sandra Hogan, Ethel Thomas, Helen Gossett, and Bonnie Lester.
Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Pastor Daniel Baer will officiate and entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.
Contributions in her memory to Hospice of Morrow County may be made at the funeral home.
