Stephanie Diane Rhoads, 58, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2015, at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a lifelong illness of Muscular Dystrophy. She was born April 26, 1956, in Mansfield, Ohio, to W. Arthur and E. Louise (Aungst) Rhoads.
Stephanie graduated in 1975 from Madison High School. She enjoyed reading, being on the computer and playing solitaire. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with her parents.
She is survived by her mother, Louise Rhoads; cousins, Gayle Kanz, Sr., Sandra Stricker, and Gary Kanz; second cousins, Gayle Kanz, Jr., Kimberley J. Colangelo, Judy K. Klass, Greg A. Kanz, Douglas Stricker, Susan Ingalls, Brenda Sindicich and Vivian Carter; her very loyal caregiver of 7 years, Linda Applegate; special friends, Chuck and Karen Hardy; and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her father, William Arthur “Art” Rhoads; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County, 3025 Park Ave West, Ontario, OH 44906. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
