Sharon K. McQuillen, 70, of Mansfield, went home to her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2015, at Galion Community Hospital. She was born August 9, 1944, in Mansfield, Ohio, one of ten children of the late Albert and Geraldine (Cairns) Workman.
Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. On June 16, 1962, she married Bill McQuillen and she traveled with her husband while he was in the Marine Corps until 1964, when she became pregnant with their first child. She retired from Therm-O-Disc in 1981 to spend more time with her grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were a source of great pride and joy for Sharon.
She loved flowers and, in her younger years, enjoyed maintaining beautiful flower gardens at her home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenges of crossword puzzles.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill McQuillen; two daughters, Kimberly (Joe) Clark of Mansfield and Melissa Nedrow of Bellville; three grandchildren, Autumn (David) James of Mansfield, April (Tom) Ebert of Lexington, Travis Nedrow of Bellville; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Clark of Lexington and Ethan James of Mansfield; two brothers; four sisters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Pastor John Dodd will conduct the service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
