John H. Mott, 85, of Perrysville died Saturday morning, Jan. 31, 2015 at the Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland following a one year illness. John was born in Green Township, Ashland County on Christmas Day in 1929 and was the son of the late Herman and Catherine (Bussler) Mott.
He lived in the Perrysville-Loudonville area all of his life. He was a 47-year employee of the Foundry at Mansfield Plumbing Products, retiring in 1995. John enjoyed bowling and was a collector of Farmall and International Harvester toy tractors. He was a former charter member of the Perrysville Lions Club, and a 35-year member of the Perrysville Fire Dept.
John is survived by his wife Helen P. (Hupp) Mott, whom he married on Feb. 4, 1950; four sons: Terry Wayne (Pamela) Mott of Perrysville, David A. (Cherie) Mott of Loudonville, Gary L. (Jackie) Mott of Perrysville, and Don E. (Patricia Dettillon) Mott of Perrysville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jim (Lelia) Mott of Loudonville and Larry Mott of Wooster; and two sisters: LaDonna (Marvin) Barr and Adeline Owens, both of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Francis, Raymond and Robert Mott; and one sister, Rosemary Emerson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Rev. Millissa Hartson and Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, from 4-7 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
