CRESTLINE, Ohio – Crestline Village Council met in special session Tuesday evening to discuss how it will find a replacement for the seat recently vacated by Kevin Taylor and to approve last-minute appropriations to bring all funds into the black by the end of 2014.

The council requested that all Crestline residents interested in serving on council send letters of interest and resumes to Council Member Clayton Herold by Wednesday, Jan. 14. The council will then review all candidates during the week of Jan. 18 and then interview prospective candidates.

The new member of council will be appointed at the Jan. 26 meeting of Crestline Village Council. The council has 30 days to find a replacement.

The council also approved permanent appropriations by transferring funds into the general fund to alleviate the deficit. Increases in appropriations were approved for the street fund, the income tax fund, the sewer fund and the ambulance fund.

At the end of the meeting Council Member Clayton Herold thanked resigning member Kevin Taylor for his year of service on council.

“He met with resistance,” said Herold, “and some of it was from me.” Herold went on to commend Taylor for taking the job seriously and researching each decision before voting instead of following what other members were doing.
