Wilma N. Pifer

Wilma N. Pifer passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Winchester Terrace. She was 92.

She was born January 24, 1922 to parents Ray and Gladys (Clever) Fry in Bellville. After Wilma graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1939, she attended Mansfield Business College.

Wilma worked at Mansfield City Schools, where she worked many years as the school secretary, until retiring in 1983.

In her spare time, she took pleasure in gardening and attending church related activities at Mayflower Congregational. But above all, Wilma cherished her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by three sons Rick Miles of Mansfield, Jim (Val) Pifer of Wake Forest, NC and Mark Pifer of NC; a daughter-in-law Ruth Nestich of Clinton Township, MI, five grandchildren Stephen (Tammy) Nestich, Derek (Jodi) Nestich, Ryan, Lindsey and Hannah Pifer; three great grandchildren Paige, Grace and Lily; three siblings Winona Claypool, Ruth Lewis, and Arnold Fry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husbands, Edward D. Pifer, Richard F. Miles and Stephen G. Nestich, she was preceded in death by her son Ronald S. Nestich, parents and four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Thursday December 4, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Root will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
