Martha L. Matteson Stith, 93, of Mansfield passed away Tuesday morning December 2, 2014 in Emeritus Outlook Manor following an extended illness.

The daughter of Carl and Mary (Touby) Phillipon, Martha was born August 26, 1921 in Mansfield and was graduated from Madison High School in 1939.

Martha worked with the Richland County Soil and Water Conservation District. She was a former member of St, John’s United Church of Christ. Over 30 years ago she moved to Bradenton, Florida, where Martha was a member of Palma Sola Presbyterian Church.

Martha was active in Business Professional Women and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She also did volunteer work with many organizations especially her local hospital in Bradenton.

She is survived by her daughter Cyndi and (Steve) Kunz of Mansfield; two granddaughters Jessica and Stephanie Kunz of Columbus; sister Mary Letizia of Mansfield.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands Harold Matteson and Russ Stith.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the parlor of the First Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road, Mansfield. The funeral service will be held in the sanctuary at 12 p.m. where the Rev. Nader Awad will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
