The Lexington-Shelby Elks #2554, in conjunction with Geyer’s Fresh Foods, will be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit local food banks.
Items may be dropped off at the collection site at Geyer’s Fresh Foods, 280 East Main Street, Lexington, on Saturday Oct. 11 and Sunday Oct. 12.
All items collected will benefit six local food banks; the Salvation Army, the Domestic Violence Shelter, Volunteers of America, Harmony House, Catholic Charites and the Butler Clear Fork Nutrition Center.
Gift Cards, checks and cash will also be accepted. Checks should be made out to the food pantry of the donor’s choice.
