The Ohio Department of Transportation has released its weekly construction report update for the week of July 14.
Ashland County
State Route 58 – Update
SR 58, between Township Road 673 and County Road 601, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to State Route 302; east on SR 302 to State Route 89; north on SR 89 to SR 58; and reverse for southbound motorists. All work is weather dependent. The road is expected to reopen at the end of July 2014.
State Route 603
SR 603, from Franklin Church Road in Richland County to the State Route 39, has intermittent lane restrictions for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in August 2014.
SR 603 is reduced to one lane of traffic just north of the Ashland railway tracks in Milton Township for bridge repairs. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with a temporary traffic signal through early August.
Crawford County
State Route 61/State Route 309
SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one-way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 18 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.
State Route 598
SR 598, just north of State Route 96 in Vernon Township, will close Monday, July 14 for a bridge replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to SR 96, east on SR 96 to State Route 39, west on SR 39 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-October 2014.
Richland County
US Route 42
US 42, one-quarter-mile south of Kings Corners Road in Troy Township, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a bridge replacement project. One lane of two-way traffic is being maintained with a temporary traffic signal through August 2014.
State Route 181
SR 181, between the eastern corporation limit of Crestline to State Route 309, will be reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a chip seal project beginning Monday, July 14. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by July 31, 2014.
State Route 603
SR 603, from Franklin Church Road to the State Route 39 in Ashland County, has intermittent lane restrictions for finalization work as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in August 2014.
