Carroll W. Powers, 89, of Mansfield, died Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on March 27, 1925 to the late Patrick and Ida Powers. Carroll moved to Mansfield in 1945 and retired from Westinghouse Corp. after 40 years of service.

He was a hardworking, industrious, friendly man, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Carroll was a devoted father and enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing at Clearfork and traveling. His hobbies included word searches, watching game shows, and listening to bluegrass music.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jesse) Parzero of Gahanna and Donna (Roger) Kaufmann of Long Island, NY; five grandchildren, Allyson, Ashley and Stacy Parzero, Christina (Jon) Freas and Daniel (Stacey) Kaufmann; six great-grandchildren, Adryanna, Vienna, Anderson, Mark, Matt and Max; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lida Caudill Powers on August 31, 2002 and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to assist the family.
